One of our most popular Billy Cook saddles, this High Country Rancher is a classic, plain and simple.

The hand stamped basket pattern in top grain leather covers this saddle, from pommel to cantle.

I recommend this saddle! 5 I love this saddle. I've used it for long days ridding in a feedlot as well as riding in the mountains. It fits pretty good on every horse I've thrown it on. I have to say it's a very comfortable saddle.

Oh Boy! What a Saddle! 5 I'm a rancher. I bought this saddle after my wife kept bugging me to buy it. Money more that well spent! I've never bought a new saddle before. Just rode my old standbys. This saddle fits you like a glove right out of the box. Incredible. Stirrups are already trained. Great buy. Can't say enough.

Saddles was exactly as described...As soon as I took it out of the box the quality and workmanship was apparent .... To my surprise the stirrups were already trained... And the saddle was complete, ready to put on the horse, front and back girt, straps, everything!...thick leather, nice deep seat, great tooling, and very stylish. .. Lives up to the billy cook name.

Beware Billy Cook 2 I did not purchase this saddle from horsesaddleshop.com, but thought I'd mention the good and bad of this saddle. I returned this saddle to the saddle store I purchased it at and will not purchase a Billy Cook again. Pro - This saddle is the most comfortable or me saddle I've ever sat in. I rode 12 hour days, 5 days in a row, and I never felt better. Con - unfortunately, due to the design of the skirt rigging, my horse wasn't as comfortable. explanation below: The tree was great, no pressure points, worked great for my horse. The problem was with the skirt, in skirt rigging, and leg leathers all together. Based upon the design of this saddle, this causes about a 1 in thick leather patch on both sides. This leads to pressure points on both sides. Look at other Ranch saddles and notice how the skirt is flared up behind the rigging and legging leathers. This assists with less pressure in that location. I attempted to work with Billy Cook for 2 months, only 1 time getting a call back o say that they'd have to call me back next week\. 1 time I was put on hold and left on hold until after business hours. They basically blew me off, and I was asking them for help with their customer satisfaction guarantee. I had the problem since about 4 months into owning the saddle, trying different pads, etc to take care of it. I will never buy Billy Cook again based on the customer service alone, or lack there of.

Amazing Saddle ! 5 I have had this Billy Cook 2175 saddle for about 7 years and got it at Horse Saddle Shop. I had looked at a lot of other manufacturers and models, but when I saw the quality of this Billy Cook High Country Rancher, I knew this was the one. there is no skimping on quality. It is a hard-seat and perfect for long hours on your horse. If you cover a lot of country or hunt elk in high country or do a lot of sorting/doctoring on the ranch, you owe it to yourself to have a look at this saddle. The thick leather will last generations...literaly. Like most new saddles, it was a little squeaky at first and it takes some time to break in. But this is a small fault and boy is it worth it. In fact this saddle is hundreds less than lesser quality makes/models. The stirrups on this saddle are simply the best: rawhide covered. No aluminum, tin, plastic, vinyl or cheap synthetic junk. And everything on this saddle is tougher than an old hog's nose. The FQHB fits my athletic 15.2 mustang filly as well as my 15.0 stocky QH colt. At first I was worried it might be too wide, but it is a good versatile size. If you want a super quality saddle to last a lifetime and more, you owe it to yourself to look closely at this one. Comfortable as can be and eye-candy 'par excellence' for any serious horseman or woman.
