This Mike Johnson design emphasizes comfort for your horse and a quick dismount for today's modern tie-down roper.
Featuring a laid-back 3.5" cantle and 2.25" horn for a low profile and easy dismount.
The classic waffle, hand-tooled design with border stays true to the traditional roping style while the berry conchos add a little character to this saddle.
A strong 7/8 double D rigging mounts to an LTM fiberglass tree for a positive fit on your horse while the suede seat with roughout jockey and fenders serves to keep you in the saddle so you can perform with confidence.
Other features include a forward-mounted screw under the pommel for increased fender swing, rawhide twist cantle binding, and rawhide wrapped roper stirrups.
Finished in Circle Y's antique color for a bold design that highlights this hand-tooled saddle.

When measuring for a child's Western saddle, have them sit down in a chair. Once seated, use a measuring tape to measure the length of their upper leg from the knee to their rear. The saddle should be about 10% longer than the child's upper leg. For example: If the child's leg measures 9 inches, then the child's Western saddle should be 10 inches.
There is a lot of room for personal preference with seat sizing, but as a general rule it is better to error on the side of ordering a seat size that is too large rather than erring on the side of a seat that will be too small.

There is a lot of room for personal preference with seat sizing, but as a general rule it is better to error on the side of ordering a seat size that is too large rather than erring on the side of a seat that will be too small.
Things to Consider
- Tucker adds 1/2inch to their seat sizes (due to thick seat padding)
16.5 Tucker = 16 normally
- Barrel riders usually take 1 less on the seat size
16 Trail Rider = 15 Barrel Rider
- Ranch (slick seats) usually ride smaller (1/2inch seat size) so they dont slide around
16 is for most men, 15 for most women
- Trail Saddles with High Cantles (5) make the seat sizes feel smaller
Trail Saddle with 5 cantle will feel smaller in the seat than one with a 3.5 cantle
- English Saddles dont convert exactly but often are 2 bigger
18 English = 16 Western
- Riders with inseams under 30 or 5 tall and under often need custom cut fenders
Tall riders with long legs but lighter weight may need custom cut fenders as well

- General Guideline is about 3 fingers between your thigh and the swell.
