The American Saddlery Mule Tamer 1740 was developed specifically for the unique shape of the mule back. Built on a Steele Equi-Fit mule tree, it accommodates the flatter topline and higher pitch commonly found in mules while providing generous wither clearance and a shorter rounded skirt that helps reduce interference near the point of the hip.

Constructed from durable Sho-Tan leather, this saddle is designed for demanding trail use while maintaining rider comfort. A soft grain-out padded seat supports long hours in the saddle, while multiple attachment points, crupper dees, breeching dees, and sturdy brass hardware make it well suited for packing gear and backcountry riding.
