 Who is Brenda Imus?
In a nutshell, Brenda Imus is the most popular, effective, and well-regarded authority on gaited horses. She has made unbelievable progress for the gaited horse community through her roles as author, trainer, teacher, and inventor. Her goal is “to equip people for working with their gaited horses in an effective and humane manner, and to encourage them to have a good time with this process.” From her columns in Trail Blazer magazine to her training DVDs, her understanding of the gaited horse and unique, humane problem solving have guided frustrated horse owners to a better relationship with their gaited horse. Imus’s books Heavenly Gaits: The Complete Guide to Gaited Riding Horses and Gaits of Gold: Selecting, Fitting, and Training the Naturally Gaited Horse are staples for everyone who owns a gaited horse, from professional trainers and equestrian colleges to horse owners.
Imus was motivated to take on her role in the gaited community observing the frequent abuse of gaited horses. This abuse ranges from show horses being pushed too hard to an ordinary horse taking to the trail in an uncomfortable saddle. In addition to her training philosophy of gentle handling, Imus decided to invent several pieces of tack that were better suited to the gaited horse.
Imus’ knowledge and experience plus Circle Y’s stunning craftsmanship is a combination that is sure to elicit an enthusiastic response from the gaited community. We’re excited to hear your feedback on the Imus 4-Beat Saddle.
