Anyone who owns a gaited horse will readily tell you that because of their unique proportions and gait, they're hard to fit precisely. With each independent footfall, the gaited horse needs a range of motion through the back and shoulder that other horse's don't.

The Imus 4Beat has special features just for the way the gaited horse moves. It has a flexible tree, of course, made out of hard rubber that will bend with the horse but also give support. The horse will enjoy unrestricted, free movement along the back and shoulders, allowing its gait to flow more naturally. Circle Y also created a new padding design called Supracor, which rests between the fleece and bars. Its honeycomb structure distributes weight, minimizes pressure points, and conforms to the horse’s unique conformation.
The saddle is designed to sit forward over the horse’s shoulder, putting the rider in an untraditional position. But Imus and Circle Y found that sitting the saddle forward and letting the rider sit more in the back of the saddle allows the horse more freedom in the shoulders and actually promises to be more comfortable for the rider, solving a common problem in fitting saddles to gaited horses.
